Our clients were the owners of Mecelec Design providing special purpose engineering solutions in the Aerospace, Defence and Automotive sectors based in Gloucester.
The two co- owners approached Bristol Business Brokers for advice on how to prepare and sell the business. After building the business for 15 plus years both Directors were planning to retire within 12 months.
The Challenge
The business had three years of good strong trading and a future order book of £2M of projects which would attract a lot of interest both from trade buyers and investors.
BBBs role was to present the business to the right type of buyer that would secure the legacy of the business and protect the workforce but also demonstrate they had experience in growing a UK manufacturing business
The two Directors also had different objectives from the sale, one wanted to retire within 6 months so he could travel with his family, the other Director wanted to stay on part time for a further two years.
The Results
BBB marketing generated 33 buyer leads which were qualified and generated 6 buyer/seller meetings.
From these meetings three offers were generated.
BBB helped the client structure a deal with the chosen buyer that achieved their objectives.
The process of selling the business took 9 months from start through to completion.
